DR. ROBERT DI PILLA

Dr. Robert DiPilla studied dentistry at the University of Detroit-Mercy, and then went on to attain a Fellowship for Dental Implants at the Harvard Club. He was quickly recruited to Manhattan, where he honed his dentistry techniques, and had the opportunity to work on many high-profile clients. Dr. DiPilla became a partner at the renowned Rosenthal Dental Group on Madison Avenue, and earned the title “the dentist’s dentist” by his peers in the industry. Dr. DiPilla has had the privilege of perfecting the smiles of celebrity clientele such as Kathie Lee Gifford, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Duchesne, and Sarah Ferguson among others.

 

While Dr. DiPilla maintains a Manhattan office, he now focuses on the location where his career began in the Detroit Metropolitan area. He contributes regularly to nationally circulated trade publications, and continues to be recognized as a leader and expert resource in aesthetic dentistry.

DR. NICHOLAS DI PILLA

Dr. Nicholas DiPilla believes dentistry chose him. He has always had two loves: a passion for art and an interest in medicine. Eventually he found a way to use both. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he became focused on dentistry—realizing it would allow him to put all of his talents to good use. Dentistry, especially cosmetic dentistry, requires a unique blend of adroit and aesthetic skill. Once in dental school, Dr. Nicholas’s attraction to restorative and aesthetic dentistry grew. He honed his skills with the help of his uncle, Dr. Robert DiPilla. An aspiration to serve others led Dr. Nicholas to participate in two humanitarian trips to Samana, Dominican Republic, to provide oral healthcare, education, and appropriate dental services to the underserved community. During that time, the love and gratitude from everyone he encountered reassured his passion for dentistry. A member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Michigan Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum, Dr. Nicholas appreciates the importance of life-long learning in the wonderful field of dentistry.

DR. ROBERT JOHN

Born in Jamaica, Dr. Robert John was raised in Toronto. His father was a physician who inspired him to help others through healthcare. He knew he wanted to pursue dentistry and found oral surgery an exciting field with opportunities to explore different avenues of treatment: hard tissue, soft tissue, minor and major surgeries, reconstruction, and more.

Dr. John began in private practice during his residency at Detroit Mercy School, where he was the vice chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery for 15 years. A dedicated surgeon, he became section chief at St. John’s before becoming the program director. He purchased a practice in Oxford in 2003 prior to joining the team at Dr Dipillas practice.

As an advocate for his patients, Dr. John speaks to patients on a personal level. He explains treatment in a way that is easy to understand, and his sense of humor puts others at ease. Dr. John strives to reassure his patients that not only will their treatment benefit their oral health but that they are in excellent hands with a trustworthy expert.

Education & Residency

Dr. Robert John graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor’s degree in economics and science. He then attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, graduating with honors. He completed his general practice residency at the Medical College of Ohio, where he was awarded Otolaryngology Resident of the Year.

Dr. John went on to pursue a Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD, DDS) with honors from Wayne State School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at St. John’s Medical Center and his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center.

Certifications

Dr. John is board-certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He is certified in Advanced Cardiac and Basic Life Support and is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), Michigan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Detroit Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the MDA and American Dental Association (ADA).

Dr. John recently served as the Program Director of the oral and maxillofacial residency program at the Detroit Medical Center. He is currently on-staff at Henry Ford Hospital and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland performing the full scope of oral surgery.

DR. KAYLA TILE

Dr. Tile graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Detroit Mercy’s hygiene program. She then continued her education in the field of dentistry and earned a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Detroit-Mercy.

Dr. Tile places a strong focus on her continuing education and training, attending numerous seminars on evidence-based dentistry, which allows her to stay on top of technological and treatment trends in the industry. She is known for her gentle, painless, compassionate, and relaxed treatment style. She aims to provide the best treatment available for each patient, while honoring their priorities.  Dr. Tile enjoys working with all age groups and is committed to building a lasting relationship based on trust and open communication.

Dr. Tile is a member of American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Michigan Dental Association.

Dr. Tile lives with her husband Olti and son Ryan in Clawson, MI. She spends her free time reading, taking walks, swimming and traveling with her family.

DR. CRAIG LENHAUSEN

Dr. Craig Lenhausen attained his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology a Michigan State University. While attending, he was inspired and committed himself to dentistry. Dr. Lenhausen went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.

While studying, he became focused on comprehensive dentistry and how it affects overall health. He strives to improve his patients’ lives by creating and maintain healthy smiles. Dr. Lenhausen is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Michigan Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Clear Aligners.

He attends courses on a weekly basis to expand his knowledge and bring updated practices and techniques to his patients.
